The new ambassador of the Empire of Japan to Syria paid a visit to Damascus University on Dec. 28th. During a meeting with Prof. Wael Mualla, president of DU, the two discussed issues of mutual interest noting the important support that JICA has provided over the years to Department of Japanese Language and Literature and to the Higher Language Institute at DU. Prof. Mualla expressed keen interest in further enhancing the historically strong relationships withJapan particularly in supporting the University’s graduate programs.
